BlackBerry Storm 2 relies on SurePress display

Check out the new peizo-electric technology used in the SurePress display for the BlackBerry Storm 2 - apparently, this new screen is able to detecting different levels of pressure instead of a mere “click”, making us wonder what kind of new world applications can we look forward to. This new SurePress screen ought to make iPhone fanboys sit up and take notice, where it will offer the benefits of multi-touch alongside feedback which could possibly usher in the next big thing where touchscreen displays are concerned. Interestingly enough, piezo-electric technology will see the display end up more rigid when power is turned off, while turning “squishy” when powered on.
